ABOUT SPACE GEOTECH

Space Geotech is a platform for sharing ideas, research, and applied strategies in space ground engineering, particularly focused on how to tackle the harsh conditions of off-Earth construction. Rather than operating as a consultancy, Space Geotech serves as a space for reflection, cross-disciplinary dialogue, and engineering thought leadership.

With roots in Earth-based infrastructure, including tunneling, mining, transportation, and foundation systems, the platform explores how established geotechnical principles can be adapted to the challenges of lunar regolith, low gravity, and extreme environmental constraints. Its content reflects decades of hands-on experience translated into realistic approaches for excavation, stabilization, and construction on the Moon and beyond.

Space Geotech is about bridging practice and possibility—grounding lunar ambitions in engineering realities.

IDEAS IN PROGRESS

How wide should lunar haul roads be under one-sixth gravity?
What does “compaction” mean when vacuum and dust dominate?
Can terrestrial tunneling standards inform lava tube reinforcement?

“There’s no point in planning habitats if you haven’t figured out the excavation logic.”

“Simulated regolith tests are not a substitute for boots-on-regolith data.”
